Because I can’t let go of Heroes yet. Oh, it’s probably my New Year’s resolution to kick that unhealthy habit, but it’d be best if Heroes just went away and I could do the pick-and-choose that I am sadly used to, as a Highlander fan. 
Where the “canon” is so inconsistent you cannot respect it all at once, so the movies and the series and whatever they made are merely suggestions, pieces of a puzzle that you take to build your own version in your head.
The problem with having the thing you love in your head means it gets harder for you to talk with other fans. Somehow, you have to negotate a common… fanon? And this might be how AU fanfiction is born. Only not, because they get written for shows that are still good and make sense.
Ah, Heroes. I have a lot of respect for the characters and the storylines, the themes and directions in Season 1 and 2. This is why I can’t respect Season 3. I want to use this opportunity to ramble about how things might have or could have or should have developed after Season 2, taking into account – not what the writers want want WANT for a storyline, but how the characters might actually react.

I soent some time in the library, and somehow, I can never escape Bob. For example, I was randomly opening a page of a book on Anthony Burgess, and came across a summary of one of his novels, “The Doctor Is Sick.”
[17:23] Annakaeli: What a sttrange line to stumble upon by randomly opening a book…
[17:23] chiire: hmm?
[17:24] Annakaeli: “A mad-eyed mobster named Bob, attracted by his apparant “kinkiness” on the assumption it betokens some basic perversion, captures him in a phone booth.
[17:24] chiire: RUUUUUUUUUUUUUN MOHINDER RUUUUUUUUUUUN
[17:29] Annakaeli: “Although [Mohinder] is innocent, he is not stupid, and he soon realizes he is in the custody of a pervert. Hea also readily divines the real nature of Bob’s “kinkiness” – a masochistic passion for flegallation. … [Bob] forces [Mohinder] to lash him with one of the whips from his large and varied collection. To his utter disgust, [Mohinder] feels “the joy of the sadist arising in his loins” and he gives Bob a flogging that gratifies him thoroughly.
[17:30] chiire: That’s so in-character!
[17:30] Annakaeli: Then he is saved by… “the arrival of another mobster, one of Bob’s colleagues in the business of selling smuggled watches”
[17:31] chiire: D:
[17:34] Annakaeli: The book is titled “The Doctor Is Sick”, coincidently
[17:35] chiire: I want fic on that theme.
[17:35] Annakaeli: Anthony Burgess, first Bobhinder writer.
That was a strange conversation to be having in the library, and it got even worse.

Bob: *sighs* I’m sorry. It’s an old habit. I really am a good guy… I’m just… I’m just not very good at it. So… how do good guys do something like that?
Mohinder: They ‘ask nicely’.
